An old lady and the beggar
An old lady and the beggar is a short interesting story to read.
Once there was an old lady who used to make bread. She earns her livelihood by selling those bread. Every day she used to make extra bread for the helpless people.
She keeps it by the side of her window. Her window was near to the road so a man with hunger can take it easily without any doubt.
She continued this great job.
One day an old beggar came, he took the bread and said," If you do good it will return good to you, but if you do evil it will bring evil things to you."
The old beggar used to come to her house every day. Then he took the bread and continue the saying, "If you do good it will return good to you, but if you do evil it will bring evil things to you."
The old lady felt disturbed on it and she decided to add adulterate on the bread.
He did the same thing that she thought. As usual, she kept the bread by the side of the window.
But after a while, the lady remembered what the old man had said to her.
Then the woman threw away the adulterated bread and placed a fresh bread there.
After some time the old beggar came and took the bread and continued the same words.
The lady paid no heed to him.
The woman had a son. Whom she had lost a few years before. Suddenly her lost son came back. The lady was surprised to see her son.
She speaks out," My dear son. How are you?"
The son said," Mother I was seriously ill a few days ago. I was about to die. Then I had nothing to eat. But suddenly an old beggar came to me and he used to feed me a bread every single day. He used to take care of me. Thus now I am feeling good."
The lady felt shocked to hear it. If she had given the adulterated bread to the beggar that day, her son would have died. She felt repentant about her big mistake.
